WHAT IS SKAPI

Your Entire Backend, Out of the Box

Skapi is a serverless backend you reach through one JavaScript library. Everything below ships with your project the moment it is created.

  • Authentication: Signup, login, profiles and verification.
  • Database: Schemaless NoSQL. No tables to design, no migrations to run.
  • File Storage: Files of any size, with access control built in.
  • CDN: Your content served fast, anywhere in the world.
  • Realtime Data: Chat, video calls and live notifications.
  • Automated Emails: Newsletters, verification mail and triggered emails.
  • Web Hosting: Your website hosted, zero configuration.
  • OpenID Login: Sign in with Google, Apple and more.
  • API Secret Keys: Third-party API calls without exposing your keys.
  • Webhooks: Third-party webhooks received without a server.

WHY SKAPI

Lower Bills, Sealed Data, 100% Serverless

Pay a fraction of the cost, keep your keys and user data sealed, and run with nothing to manage.

Cut Backend Costs by Up to 90%

No servers to rent, no idle capacity, no one on call. Skapi charges only for what your app actually uses, so a backend that costs hundreds a month on cloud servers can run for a tenth of that. Start on the Free plan.

Fewer Tokens to Build

On a conventional backend, every schema change sends your agent through a long loop: list tables, write a migration, apply it, write policies, regenerate types, fix what breaks, then edit the app. On Skapi there is one step: edit the app. Your data has no schema to rebuild, ever.

Your Data. Encrypted Before It Leaves the Browser

Your users' data is sealed with AES-256-GCM on their own device before it touches the network. Not even Skapi can read it.

Serverless by Design, Nothing to Deploy

No servers, no deployments, no capacity to plan. Your backend is live the moment you create the project and stays up with nothing for you to maintain.

HOW IT WORKS

Setting Up Your Codebase

A complete backend in one JavaScript library, for any JS framework or plain HTML.

YOUR SKAPI PROJECT

Create a Skapi project

Name it, choose a region, and you get its Project ID.

Create a project →

then

NODEJS AND SPA PROJECTS

Install the library

Install skapi-js from npm, create the instance once with your Project ID, and import it wherever you need it.

npm i skapi-js
import { Skapi } from 'skapi-js';
const skapi = new Skapi("<Project ID>");

or

PLAIN HTML

Load it with a script tag

No build step: load the library from the CDN and initialize it on the page. Your backend is ready.

<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/skapi-js@latest/dist/skapi.js"></script>
const skapi = new Skapi("<Project ID>");

AI CODING

Build With Your AI Agent

Code with your favorite CLI agent, IDE or AI platform.

  1. Download your tool's base prompt file

The base prompt teaches your agent the whole Skapi API. Pick your tool below and click its file name to download it.

  2. Put the file in your project folder

Save it in your project's root folder, or attach it to your agent's prompt input.

  3. Open your agent and start building

Paste the prompt below, replace <Project ID> with your Skapi Project ID, and describe what you want to build.

My Skapi project ID is: "<Project ID>".
Build me a [describe what you want].

MCP SERVER

Let Your Agent Run the Project

Optional. Your agent manages your Skapi projects from your coding tool or any MCP-compatible chat platform.

Tickets, secret keys, OpenID sign-in, settings, hosting, records, email templates, users: everything you would otherwise click through in the dashboard, done with a prompt.

  1. Connect from your tool

Pick your tool and add the server with the snippet shown.

claude mcp add --transport http skapi https://mcp.broadwayinc.computer
codex mcp add skapi --url https://mcp.broadwayinc.computer
    codex mcp login skapi
gemini mcp add --transport http skapi https://mcp.broadwayinc.computer
  2. Sign in with your Skapi account

The first time, your browser opens the Skapi sign-in page. Standard OAuth, nothing to configure. From then on the agent acts as your account and can reach only what you can.

  3. Tell it which project

An account can hold several Skapi projects. Name the one you mean, or ask the agent to list them. Then ask for what you need.

Use my Skapi project "<Project ID>".
